Foursquare Youth got their District Overseer, Revd. Samson Idowu Alawode, to
spend time with them and to answer intimate questions. It was also fun when the District Overseer
said he did not know he would become so successful in life as a village boy. However, when the wife, Revd. (Mrs.) Sarah
Alawode, took the microphone, she said that she could see her husband becoming
so successful in life because he (The D.O.) was diligent in his service to God
all the while. It was a take home for
all of the youth because it points to the fact that while the man may be screening
the past of his fiancée, the lady is looking to the future of the man.
The youth
came in one by one at first but in a short while, the registration table was
congested and the auditorium of the District Headquarters church was filled up
with lively youth of the district. They
were all fed by the district and everybody returned home happy. The theme of the Time Out with D. O. was Don’t
Wait for The Door of Opportunity Create Yours.
The District Overseer admonished the youth to look out for opportunity
in all their situation and exploit it.
He drew his inference from the victory of David over Goliath from II
Samuel 17. He said while others were
afraid of Goliath, David trusted God and confronted Goliath though he has never
been a soldier until that time.
